Does Silent Hill: Townfall have combat?

Yes, in first person, with melee weapons and firearms next to stealth. PlayStation.Blog’s hands-on writer calls fighting a last resort and avoiding enemies the better option.

What the store page says

Swing and block with melee weapons in frenetic melee combat, or keep your distance and use firearms

From Steam store data (appdetails)

The same page adds that you can, beyond fighting or fleeing, carefully sneak past danger through stealth. McKellan says the team gave players multiple ways to handle an encounter rather than forcing one playstyle. Said in PlayStation.Blog: the developers on the Scottish setting

The tools, from the hands-on report

Found sometimes, not plentiful. It blocks charges and swings, then you strike back. your makeshift club can only survive the onslaught for a couple of battles.

Revolver
Square: reload

The gun is powerful but incredibly loud, and it reloads slowly, one cartridge at a time.

Thrown objects
Motion aim, if enabled

you can pick up small objects like bottles and bricks to throw as distractions. Radios and TVs can also draw an enemy away.

Cover and hiding
Circle: duckR1 + right stick: lean

Duck behind fences, signs and parked cars, lean around corners, or slip into cabinets, closets and lockers. An enemy that sees you hide will pull you out.

The CRTV

Certain signals show monsters through walls and fog. See the CRTV page.

How to read it: the bars rise with how hostile the enemies are, and the height is an order, not a measurement. The two pills are the separate puzzle setting, which does not change the bars. Original chart for this site.

Story Mode is aimed at a more narrative-focused run, and Normal is described as how the game was built to be played. Puzzle difficulty is separate: Normal, or Hinted, which highlights the important hints in red. Both kinds can be changed at any time from Game Options without reloading a save, and difficulty does not change puzzle solutions or achievements. Said in Game Rant: difficulty and puzzle settings Length moves with these settings, as the length page explains.

What this connects to

Everything above is played alone: both stores list one player, as laid out on the multiplayer page. Two guides tie your kills to which ending you get, covered on the endings page, and the viewpoint all of it is played from is on the first-person page.
